Mission
Build a knowledgeable public capable of burning in a safe, legal, beneficial, and responsible manner. Empower private landowners through education, networking, and volunteer labor to practice good fire.
Future State
Good fire is practiced regularly throughout the Yuba and Bear river watersheds. Residents and visitors of all ages, from kids to elders know about the varied benefits of prescribed fire. YBBC supports a cooperative network of satellite neighborhood prescribed burn associations, neighbors, agencies, non-profit organizations, and other community partners engaged in local burns that are legal and approved.

Burn Preparation Workshops
We are excited to offer a series of workshops focused on preparing land for prescribed fire applications. These workshops are being hosted by members of the community involved in and knowledgeable about prescribed fire across geographies, ecosystem types, and neighborhoods.
